You will probably need to reserve a spot for the a few weeks to come because of the limited number of facilities and need for social distancing. But the Marine World attractions and animal displays were, as were a decent number of food venues, shops, and the all-important restrooms. True, the rides were not operating, and rightly so. I have to give this place credit for finding a way to offer entertainment to families during the pandemic shutdown. I'm sure visiting on less crowded Tuesdays enhanced the level of our experience and the tickets were less expensive for those who purchased a one-day Tuesday ticket. This unique park has features that fill a wide range of interests, age groups, and definitions of "fun," with plenty to keep the senses enlivened throughout the day. We met up at the end of the day and had fun sharing our exciting experiences as we trekked to our vehicles. Then, we split into two groups so those who wanted to continue twisting and turning at high speeds far above the ground could do so while those who wanted to interact with some animals as well as do some medium level rides could enjoy those opportunities. For half of our visit, thrills is what the entire group enjoyed together. My prior visit was with different family members (teens and both younger and older adults) who mostly wanted to experience the thrill rides, beginning with the Medusa. There is nothing quite like stroking a stingray's silky wings, strolling amidst colorful butterflies and moths, viewing a shark gliding over your head, being splashed by dolphins gracefully leaping high above the water, and chuckling at the choreographed antics of sea lions, seals, and otters, while still having time to swing, twist, and turn on a few rides. In the most recent visit with a daughter and grandchildren as well as my adult special needs son, we focused on the animal shows and experiences as well as boarding a few rides. Both visits were wonderful, satisfying experiences. They are the flags of Spain, Mexico, France, the Republic of Texas, the Confederate States of America, and the United States of America.I visited this park two different times in the last month with two different groups of different interests and ages. The flags referred to in the amusement park’s name are the six that have flown in Texas (the state in which the park first opened in 1960) throughout its history. Some of the rides take you high up into the air, while others shoot you forward at incredible speeds within seconds of the ride starting.
